When you study nursing, midwifery or social work at Middlesex, you join a community of outstanding graduates having a huge impact across the world. We understand  you want to make the most of your time at university, but you might also be considering what comes after. Sarah Jevons: Midwife, NHS

Course studied: BSc Midwifery (2009-2012)

Sarah decided she wanted to change her career path after five years of working in office-based roles. In 2009, she began studying midwifery, where she found her love caring for and supporting others.

Sarah spent three years working as a student midwife whilst completing her studies with us. Upon graduation, she became a full-time midwife for the NHS.

Joesphine I: Young Persons Advisor, London Borough of Bromley

Course studied: MA Social Work (2021-2022)

Joesphine began studying her masters in social work after deciding she wanted a career change. Whilst studying for her postgraduate qualification, she gained valuable experience as a student support worker for Centrepoint and Haringey Council.

Josephine has highlighted how supportive her lecturers and supervisor were during her time at Middlesex.

Vincent Lamusao: Acting Deputy Manager, Residential Care Home, Sanctuary Care

Course studied: MSc Nursing

Vincent is currently an Acting Deputy Manager at a residential care home. He excelled in leadership and management modules, represented the Student Union, and had his motion approved at an NUS conference. He says his defining career highlight was providing medical assistance at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

Fatima Kamara: Health and Social Care Management Executive, Labour Councillor & CEO

Course studied: BSc Nursing (2003) Postgraduate Advanced Women’s Health (2006)

Motivated by her passion for making positive change, Fatima achieved a distinction in her nursing studies. She has since enjoyed a successful 20-year nursing career, became a health and social care consultant, and values Middlesex's foundation for her career.

Idi Arewa: Lecturer, Middlesex University

Course studied: BSc Adult Nursing (2018)

Idi Arewa, an inspiring alumna, defied odds to become a lecturer at Middlesex University. With a 1st Class Honours Degree in Adult Nursing, she excelled as a Registered Staff Nurse, embraced teaching during the pandemic, and gained recognition for innovation in recruitment. Her journey embodies resilience, dedication, and impact.
