Middlesex provides extensive, flexible library services that can be accessed on-campus, or wherever you are in the world.

The Sheppard Library houses an enormous collection of hard copy resources, and the vast majority of our 30,000 full text journals are available online. There are also plenty of silent and group study spaces for you to use both in the Sheppard Library and the Williams building.

Some of the excellent services provided by the library are:

Free e-books

You'll receive a free electronic copy of the core textbook for every module you study at Middlesex. This e-book will be chosen by the module leader to ensure that every student has access to the key information they need.

Your e-books can be downloaded onto your laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone, meaning you can access them anywhere, online or offline. The e-books also allow both students and lecturers to highlight, annotate and share sections of the text, making collaborative work faster and more flexible.

"The e-books provided by Middlesex have made being a student so much easier. I'm no longer struggling to try and get a hold of the few copies of core textbooks in the library or paying the expensive price for each book only to use a few chapters. On top of that, the burden of carrying bulky books has been reduced to simply opening up an app on my tablet or phone. The initiative has revolutionised the way students interact with educational materials."

Free printing

All printing and photocopying for academic purposes is free of charge, and can be done at any printer on campus using your student ID card.

Open 24/7

During term time the library never closes, so if you're struggling with a deadline or just need a quiet place to get your head down, you'll always have somewhere to work.

Free laptop loan

24 hour laptop loan is available free of charge from several locations on campus. The laptops have full desktop software, printing functionality and wi-fi. They can be used on or off campus and can also be borrowed over the weekend.
