To support you in gaining valuable work experience and skills, our Unitemps service offers a range of rewarding, flexible and enjoyable part-time work opportunities both on and off campus.

Our Unitemps team is familiar with visa restrictions and can advise you on suitable opportunities to work during term time.

  • Placements and internships

We can help you secure an internship or placement during your studies. The placement options that are available to you will depend on the course you study however, these can include year-long placements, short-term internships, intensive one-week roles and community placements run by our Students' Union.

Practical employer-led projects

We operate as an in-house agency, connecting Middlesex students directly with real clients. This not only enables you to work on genuine projects but also fosters skill development in a secure environment before graduation

In our commitment to practical employer-led projects, we've established a continuously growing network of over 70 local and national SME industry connections, providing our students with authentic project briefs and valuable placements, allowing them to apply and enhance their key skills in a tangible, real-world context.

Our Emerging Professional summer programme offers comprehensive training and work experience opportunities to all students. This programme ensures that you gain practical insights and skills that align with current industry demands.

Moreover, we offer a diverse set of opportunities internally. Teams of students are frequently offered chances to collaborate with different teams and departments, spanning from administration to film production and beyond. This hands-on engagement across various domains provides a well-rounded and immersive learning experience, preparing you for the dynamic challenges of the professional world.

Entrepreneurship and self-employment

The MDXcelerator programme is designed to empower Middlesex University students and recent graduates like you. We adapt to your needs, providing flexible, accessible support throughout your academic journey.

Our aim is to break entry barriers for those unsure of what being a start-up funder is like, who are held back by a lack of social or financial resources, as well as offer guidance to those who need support in developing and launching their ideas onto the market.

MDXcelerator opens as a year-long service, offering you exciting events, pitching challenges, training, and seed funding opportunities. You can also access online resources, 1:1 support, and collaborative spaces to aid in your journey.
