Our Enterprise Development Hub, situated in the Business School, is dedicated to nurturing innovative student ideas. We offer 1-1 mentoring and workshops for starting or growing your own business and an annual Entrepreneurship Week full of events to put you in direct contact with successful alumni and other entrepreneurs.
Many of the skills the Hub helps to develop also enhance the employability prospects of those wishing to be employed by large corporations, SMEs or the third sector.
Throughout the academic year the Hub also runs a series of workshops, seminars and mentoring sessions. These equip those wishing to start their own venture or earn a living as a freelancer, consultant, contractor or sole trader with the knowledge, tools and confidence to take the next step.
Our core workshops cover a wide range of topics including, innovation, business planning, the basics of business and networking. Through our networks we also offer seminars on special areas such as e-commerce, social and eco-enterprise.
EDH@MDX runs three group-mentoring sessions weekly. These are open sessions where entrepreneurs can get answers to questions about their business ideas.
Mentors with specific skillsets are paired to mentees so their advice and expertise is directly applicable. Mentors are selected from a pool of Middlesex University academics and staff, external practitioners and volunteers.
Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world's largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship. Each year we run a series of workshops, talks, events and competitions to coincide with this global initiative.
