Alternative Organisations and Transformative Practices

What we do

The Alternative Organisations and Transformative Practices (AOTP) research cluster brings together researchers to explore non-traditional, emerging and alternative forms of organizations/work as well as workplace practices. Members apply a wide range of perspectives and disciplines, including employment relations, organization studies, organizational psychology, sociology, history, and political economy.

Specific topics of interest include:

  • Alternative ways of organizing work, including organizations in the social, solidarity economy and green economy
  • New and emerging forms and control of work, including integration of new technologies and digitalisation
  • Socially responsible development and/or business models
  • Conceptualisation of alternative theoretical frameworks for modes of work and property relationships, including the idea of urban and labour commons.

If you are interested in the work of the cluster or attending one of our regular meetings, please contact the cluster leaders Parisa Dashtipour p.dashtipour@mdx.ac.uk or Dan Ozarow d.ozarow@mdx.ac.uk

We encourage participation and input from a wide range of stakeholders within academia and beyond.
