UK Visual Analytics Consortium

The UKVAC Joint Research Project is an 18 month collaborative research and outreach programme run by the five partners of the UK Visual Analytics Consortium (UKVAC): Middlesex University, Oxford University, Imperial College London, University College London and Bangor University. This project is funded jointly by the US Department of Homeland Security and HM Government in the UK. The project is a multidisciplinary research programme to support intelligence analysts in conducting Visual Analytics, focused by two surrogate intelligence analysis problems: the Noble Laureate (NL) and Flight Data (FD) problems.

UKVAC's goals are to:

  • Strengthen UK research in the area of visual analytics and develop recommendations for the research and development agenda.
  • Raise the level of awareness of visual analytics in the Government, Industry, and user communities.
  • Strengthening research and collaborative links between the UK, the EU, Canada, and the US.
  • Foster the education of the next generation of students in the area of visual analytics
