Choosing Middlesex
After evaluating a wide range of university programmes, I concluded that the programme that best fitted my needs was the one offered by Middlesex University. This choice was confirmed once I did more research into the University.
Teaching and learning
MDX has a self-learning teaching style which I love. The teachers are easily reachable and are always open to help. Lectures are very informative, and professors explain all subjects in depth. They provide seminars where we can apply the learned theories, discuss the subjects and clear any doubts we might have.
Being part of #TeamMDX
Besides providing very helpful and experienced professors, the university offers support such as free books, lecture material, videos, etc., to help us succeed in our studies. Middlesex offers students many helpful resources that we can access at any time through My UniHub, Kortex, and online and physical libraries.
I am currently still in my home country, but I am looking forward to experiencing Middlesex fully very soon and discovering the campus facilities, staff support and social life.
Applying for and receiving a scholarship
I have been awarded the MESCYT Scholarship. This scholarship is given through the Ministry of Higher Education Science and Technology to high achieving Dominican students for them to study abroad.
It has been a long path to get here. I got my unconditional offer from Middlesex University and then I had to wait for my profile to be reviewed and make sure I met all the requirements to get the scholarship. Thankfully, during this process, I had the support of the Mescyt representative as well as Middlesex Americas regional manager, Miss Gabriela Mendez who walked me through the whole scholarship process. Both have been very helpful at answering all my questions and guiding me through every step. This has been a long journey with many highs and lows, but all the hard work and waiting were more than worth it, I got my scholarship!!
I am still amazed and beyond happy that I was awarded this scholarship. I understand that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am ready to take full advantage of it. This scholarship will help me to achieve my master’s degree in international business which will provide me with all the skills I need to become a better professional in my field and will take me a step closer to achieving my goals.
