More and more students are applying to university through Clearing. Whether you missed the UCAS deadline, have only recently decided to apply, or decided to wait for any reason, Clearing is a practical way to find a uni course now and get started this Autumn 2021.
We also know that when you’re out of education and don’t have the support of your school and teachers to help, Clearing can feel scary. To make it as straightforward as possible, we’ve put together some tips for navigating Clearing after taking a break from education.
If you’ve already got your exam results, you can apply through Clearing from Monday 5 July until it closes in October. Most students have to wait until they receive their exam results, so this gives you the chance to apply early find a place on the course you want before it’s full.
The Clearing process isn’t as complicated as it might seem: you check if the uni you like has a course you’re interested in, then you call them up to see if they’re able to offer you a place. If they do, they’ll be able to guide you through making you application through UCAS.
Finding the right university and course for you can be scary, but it’s also exciting. Take the time to think about what you want out of your education, your requirements and dealbreakers. Then, have a browse through available courses: you might find yourself interested in a degree you’d never considered before.
