How to apply for Clearing
Learn how to make an application through Clearing, what to expect on 14 August, and when phone lines will be open.
Early applications - 5 July - 14 August 2025
Clearing opens on 5 July but you can apply for a course at Middlesex from 1 July. If you already have your grades you don't need to wait you can apply now.
Clearing opening hours
During Clearing, our advisors are available by phone 0208 411 6565 and Live Chat Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
On results day, our advisors are available during the following hours:

Friday 15 August | 8am to 7pm |
Saturday 16 August | 10am to 3pm |
Monday 18 August onwards | 9am to 5pm |

Applying on results day - 14 August 2025
A-Level (and BTEC) results day will be the busiest day for Clearing, but we have a large number of staff ready to take your calls.
Morning: from 8am
- Your grades are released on the UCAS website
- From 8am you can call us on 0208 411 6565
- If the course you want to do is full, similar courses may be available.
Afternoon: from 1pm
- You can add your Clearing choice onto UCAS from 1pm. This gives you time for research before you make any decisions
- If you have received various offers from multiple universities, you can only accept one offer
- To accept the offer, you need to add the university and its details onto - 'Add a Clearing Choice' in your UCAS Hub, inside the section - 'Your Choice'.
