Postgraduate Marketing residential trips

Our residential programme

The Residential Trip is a core component of your masters degree but will give you a fantastic opportunity to gain a practical and applied perspective of marketing. By investigating and visiting up to eight diverse UK businesses and companies, you’ll be exposed to current methods, processes and strategies used in consumer and business-to-business markets.

What to expect

The Residential Trip will take you across the UK as you gain a global insight and a wider understanding of organisational perspectives outside London. You'll meet current marketing teams and hear from their directors and heads of departments during in-depth presentations and tours. You'll also explore contemporary themes of marketing and apply practitioner-based thinking to a variety of organisational areas.

Student profile: Dina Haweel

"The residential trip was a definite highlight of my year of study. I was able to put theory into practice by visiting local and international businesses, and gained insight into their value marketing practices. It was intensive with multiple activities throughout the day but I was able to enhance my communication skills when dealing with corporate businesses as well as my organisation and time keeping skills. I have learnt to value fellow peers and staff members’ backgrounds and experiences which added an insightful perspective into differing topics."

Student profile: Ludovica Uggeri

"I loved the residential! It really shows how the real world works and having real life experiences helped me understand the theory better. I learnt about every aspect of marketing and spending a week with my classmates helped me to bond with them, therefore the group work was easier. And the fact that we did not have to pay extra for it, was a great plus. The whole experience allowed me to see how different companies organise events and it made me aware that events marketing is my call!"

The residential allowed me to discover how certain companies develop themselves. We were able to work on different projects, learn new ways to work, give presentations, and show what we are capable of. It has given me more confidence and made me think about a different approach to my future, from working for myself to becoming a leader and managing teams.
