The module focuses on developing your research capability as part of your professional practice within a health and social care context. You are given the opportunity to develop your research capability through designing and implementing your own research proposal.
The aim is to support you to undertake a scholarly inquiry and develop a critical understanding of social science research and its contribution to your professional field of practice. We use an action based inquiry approach which requires you to engage with your research topic from the beginning. You complete the module over one calendar year by producing a dissertation / research project report.
You will attend five one-day workshops held monthly, usually on Wednesdays Times: 10.00am – 1.00pm and 1.30pm – 4.00pm
There are several funding options available:
NSA 4050 is for students who have graduated from Middlesex University with a PGDip in Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing or Mental Health Practice and who wish to 'top up' to a MSc Nursing Studies or Mental Health Studies.
