Explore the basics of Motivational Interviewing in our fascinating two-day course designed for a wide range of health and social care professionals who experience client contact in any capacity. This is  an introductory course, and as such it is aimed at staff who have limited knowledge on the subject.

This is a two day workshop aimed at for a wide range of health and social care professionals who experience client contact and who are looking to enhance their practice, specifically those with a limited knowledge of Motivational Interviewing.

Delivered over two days, this course explores the following topics:

  • The process of change
  • The spirit and principles of Motivational Interviewing
  • Change talk
  • The 4 processes in MI
  • The core skills
  • Moving from precontemplation to contemplation
  • Moving from contemplation to preparation
  • Moving from preparation to action

In addition to the information, insights and knowledge you receive during this course you will be provided with supporting materials including appropriate reading and resources, and a certificate of attendance.

There are several funding options available:

  • receiving course fees via CPPD contracts between NHS trusts and Middlesex University
  • paying your own fees
  • sponsorship by your employer (but not under a CPPD contract).
