My name is Sukhbinder Barn and I'm a senior lecturer in marketing.

The fun of being in a classroom, engaging with students, having a conversation where we're not owners of information and content.

And to me, that fundamentally is what teaching at Middlesex is about.

And that's what excites me about the classroom.

Learning different modules.

So my favorite one so far has been digital marketing.

So I've learned like the different skills of digital marketing, different kind of job roles of what you can go into, basically learning all the skills that you need.

Being based in London, we've got access to major ad agencies.

And so we link closely with a number of these where we have people either come in to speak to our students, or we take students out to the agency so they can kind of get a sense of a day in the world of an ad agent.

Our module is constantly being updated, especially with marketing.

It's something that's constantly changing month by month, trends are coming in and out and they're keeping up to date with them.

Even this year, our modules have completely changed and I think that's good because it keeps us up to date to the real world.

One of the things that we really want to do is, and we absolutely do is, create assessments which aren't just about repeating knowledge, repeating modules.

Students hate group work, which is great.

But we make them work in groups, we make them take responsibility for their own individual learning.

Problem solving plays a really important part, so does conflict negotiation between each other because these are the things that happen in the workplace.

Everyone is very friendly, you definitely feel safe and included in every discussion, which is definitely a really great feeling.

Lecturers try to be as inclusive as possible. Many of them have contacted me directly and asked if there are any adjustments that I want them to make.

As a Midlander from Wolverhampton, I'm actually so envious of students that they can come and study here. We're at one of the most vibrant, majestic cities in the world, and literally from where we are, it's a 30-minute journey into central London.

If someone ever asked me, am I envious of students, that would be the reason why, because they've got access to this fantastic city.

I was accepted to a number of universities in the UK and I ended up deciding to go with Middlesex University.

Hi, my name is Nouf, and I'll tell you why I picked Middlesex University as my choice for a postgraduate degree.

I had a dream to proceed with my postgraduate in the UK and I ended up deciding to go to Middlesex University.

The applying process was very easy and especially seeing that I'm coming in as an international student.

They helped me out with finding a place to stay, helped me with my financial issues.

With everything that I got to experience, it allowed me to feel confident that I made the right choice.

You can do so much with a postgraduate degree.

I'm studying marketing, which is a growing industry.

And Middlesex University has an extraordinary program where it allows me to experience everything first-hand and allows me to understand what it's like to be in a director position.

With my degree, I'm able to grow in the industry alongside making more money.

Before my postgraduate degree, I was a project manager for a number of companies, but now that I pursued my postgraduate, I'm very confident that I will be able to achieve a higher position in the companies that I'm looking to apply to.

When I was doing my undergrad degree in the United States, I went to a university where the majority of the students were Muslim, but I still felt a better connection at Middlesex University.

They were able to provide Ramadan boxes during the holy month of Ramadan for me to break my fast, alongside a prayer room where I can pray whenever I needed to. And even if I wanted to pray in any other room, I felt very comfortable and nobody was there to judge me.

One of the greatest things that my lecturers were able to provide was a one-on-one experience when it comes to writing my dissertation, which is one of my final projects.

This allowed me to get a better understanding on what kind of direction I needed and giving me a hands-on experience.

The program also allowed me to travel and meet different businesses and have a lot more experience in the marketing industry.

Studying abroad could have been a difficult experience as an international student, but Middlesex University provided everything that I needed to have the peace of mind and the confidence that my future is in good hands and my decision in coming to this university was the right one to make.
