What made you choose Middlesex University?:

"Time is Money" we are all aware, but how many of us actually follow this. I chose MDX due to the fact that the quality of education provided meets the AMBA requirements, compressing it within a span of 18 Months. My decision was also influenced by the diversity of courses and cultures available for students to explore. The location of the University in Hendon, which makes it easily accessible from all parts of the city via public transport, also contributed to my decision.

What course did you study and what attracted you to that course?:

MSc Management - The modules (Managing Innovation & Technology , Managing Projects, Quantitative Analysis, Management concepts and Organisational Behaviour) were perfectly designed to meet Global requirements and making you ready for the future. These definitely helped me to be become who I am today.

What aspects of your course did you enjoy the most?:

My experience at Middlesex University was very useful in all aspects of my life. Group discussions, seminars, videos that we discussed as case studies, and presentations, gave us a chance to interact and to develop understanding through healthy arguments within the group. The multicultural environment added to the spice. Tutors are highly qualified in their specific area, which allows them to offer great insights from the real world to students.

What is your fondest memory of Middlesex?:

The practical learning sessions - group discussions - are the best memory. They not only helped me to develop interpersonal skills but also enhanced my time management. Communication skills and leadership skills were also developed during the course.

Apart from this, being a Student Ambassador and Teaching Learning Assistant, were also taught me the value of relationship and education.

What one piece of advice would you give to a prospective student interested in studying at Middlesex?:

At Middlesex University you get the opportunity to develop your personality from many angles.
It is up to you how you take advantage of what the university offers and to develop yourself.

How did your course and time at Middlesex help you to get where you are professionally today?:

The course MSc Management opened my eyes to many aspects like innovation, technology, statistics and organisational management. I give complete credit to the great course design and tutors. Together, they developed my skills and helped me become the Vice President of a Limited company.

How did you get your foot on the career ladder post university?:

Post Middlesex University I started working at Pelicans UK where I applied my project management skills. During my studies, I’ve also invested in obtaining my Six Sigma certificate, which was very easy to complete due to the support of the statistical module I had incorporated in my programme. Moreover, I kept adding one skill at regular intervals to keep myself updated. I also obtained certificates in Lean Mfg, 5s, Kaizen, ISO 9001 and IATF

What has been your defining career break of highlight to date?:

Getting Appointed as a Vice President was a turning point in my professional life, which now gives me the opportunity to use all my skill sets. This also enables me to keep learning and to prepare for becoming an entrepreneur, which is one of my dreams.

What are the top three career tips you would give to current students and recent graduates?:

- Be Alive - Always keep learning , keep yourself updated
- Keep Observing - What you learn from observation cannot be taught  by anyone
- Honesty - Always be honest with your work in all aspects and by all means.

What skills have been most valuable in your career so far and how have you developed these?:

An individual has to decide what he wants from his professional life and develop the skills that will get him/her on the desired path. Studying at MDX, got me started on developing my specific set of abilities - quality management systems, cost reduction techniques, productivity improvement, soft skills and business excellence – which I improved by taking the appropriate short term course for each of them.

Are there any tips you can give international students looking to move abroad to study?:

Being from India, I can definitely vouch that MDX gives you an exposure to global students and enables you to understand many cultures. The atmosphere at the Hendon campus is very welcoming, tutors and all the other support staff make you feel comfortable and go beyond their line of duty to help you.

The experience will enrich your life.
