MSc Applied Psychology

What made you choose Middlesex University?

I wanted to study abroad and I really liked the variety of modules offered by the Middlesex University programme.

What attracted you to your course and made you apply?

As well as studying in London and the appeal of living abroad, I liked the modules included in the MSc Applied Psychology programme.

What aspects of your course did you enjoy most?

I liked the fact that the students on the course came from a variety of countries so we were a very international group. It was great meeting new people from different cultures.

What is your fondest memory of life at Middlesex?

I think the people I met and the discussions and fun we had together.

What one piece of advice would you give to a prospective student interested in studying at Middlesex?

Study hard and have fun!

How did your course and time at Middlesex help you to get where you are professionally today?

I believe that the international experience offered by Middlesex has been particularly important as it has helped me to better understand different cultures and country practices.

What made you choose the industry you work in and what are its pros and cons?

For my dissertation I focussed on business psychology, so I was well equipped for a job in human resources. The oil and gas industry has a big presence in the area in which I live so this sector is where there is greatest opportunity.

How did you get your foot on the career ladder post university?

I applied for a job opening and was fortunate enough to secure the position.

What has been your defining career break or highlight to date?

I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work in an area that I enjoy.

What does the future hold for you?

I think there will be a lot of opportunity in the coming years for me to develop within the areas of business psychology and human resources.

What are the top three career tips you would give to current students and recent graduates?

Enjoy what you are doing, remember hard work always pays off and make sure you have fun!
