Dr Aurelie Mendoza Spinola

Aurélie Mendoza Spinola is Senior Lecturer in Law at Middlesex University Mauritius, specialising in Public Law and Environmental Law. Her research engages with the relationships between constitutional and administrative law, environmental protection and climate governance, and she has published on climate justice, environmental democracy, waste management and the domestic implementation of international climate commitments in Mauritius and the wider Indian Ocean region. She holds a PhD in Public Law from Université Paris 13 (Sorbonne Paris Cité), where her doctoral work examined environmental interest and the emergence of environmental fundamental rights. Aurélie peer reviews for different environmental and public law journals and teaches Public Law, EU Law, International Commercial Law and Legal Research Skills, drawing on experience in dissertation supervision and student-centred pedagogy to support future research collaboration.
