Biography

Dr HelenCai (PhD, MBA, BA, PGCert(Research), PGCert (HE), FHEA) is a Senior Lecturer (AssociateProfessor) in Circular Economy andInternational Business Innovation at MiddlesexUniversity Business School. She currently serves as the Programme Leader for BAInternational Business Administration and BA Business Management (Top-Up, Year 2 & Year 3). Shealso acts as Link Tutor and leads the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programmedelivered in China through a partnership with UnitedBusiness Institutions (UBI). Additionally, she holds theposition of Full Visiting Professor at JiaxingUniversity, China; serves as Senior Editorof Cogent Business and Management and editorial Board ofJournal of World Business, and contributes to leading and the Editorial Boards of various SpecialIssues. She is the Vice President of Marketing for the International Case Study Research Association (ICRA).

 Before joiningMiddlesex University, Dr Cai held a full-time PostdoctoralResearch Fellowship at the Universityof Huddersfield, UK, where she successfully contributed toseveral international research projects over two years. Prior to her academiccareer in the UK, she accumulated over a decade of professional experience withthe Central Bank of China and the largest state-ownedcommercial bank. She held positions as a Senior Economist and Mid-LevelManager in charge of the International BusinessDepartment, and as an Associate Professorof Business Management & Economics at higher education institutionsaffiliated with the Central Bank. She also worked as an industry consultant on multinational investment andhigh-tech sector development projects in China.
