Dr Duffy is currently active in her research currently working with professional sports performers in darts and tennis. She is collaborating with researchers from other institutions in Europe and the Middle East.

Biography

Dr Duffy is aChartered Sport Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and aregistered practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Her areas ofexpertise are teaching, research and consultation and generally lie in thefield of Sport Psychology. Within this discipline her focus is on specificareas such as the development of expertise, expert/novice differences in sportperformance, the psychological effects of practice, gender differences inthrowing ability, psychological resilience, audience effects and socialfacilitation and the role of self-confidence in maintaining elite performance.She has published research in all of these areas, as well as other relatedtopics, with her most recent work focusing on gender differences in handednesswhen throwing, sex segregation in sport and the effect of psychologicalresilience and self-confidence on the impact of Dartitis.

Aninteresting fact is that Linda is a former Darts World Champion.
