Research activities

My main research activity is in Performance Analysis specialising in statistical methods and presenting information in novel visual ways. I have worked in many sports but currently am focussing on football with contracts that support four Phd students. Previously I have worked with England squash, the Irish Rugby Union and the English Institute of Sport providing expertise for performance development of elite athletes. 


Current Teaching

I currently help teach and examine on all modules related to the MSc Sport Performance Analysis and play a main role in developing the curriculum to meet industry demands. 


Biography

I joined Middlesex University in 2010 to lead the research within the London Sport Institute and to deliver an MSc in Sport Performance Analysis. Concurrently I helped staff obtain PhDs with the aim of growing the research activity within the department. This culminated in our first REF submission in 2021. We were particularly pleased that our Impact case studies were judged as either 3* or 4* (the highest 2 ratings).
