Research activities

Nimai is an Associate Professor in Sport Performance Analysis and is well known in his discipline. At Middlesex University, he leads the development and delivery of highly regarded MSc courses in Sport Performance Analysis, both on-campus and online distance education versions. Nimai's curriculum development experience is extensive and international, having created and delivered undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the UK and in several other countries, including India, Croatia, Lithuania, and America. He is a research-active academic who publishes regularly and presents his work at prestigious international and national conferences. 


Current Teaching

Nimai is Director of Postgraduate Sport Programmes and also is a Programme Leader for the MSc in Sport Performance Analysis (both on-campus and distance education). This involves teaching on all core modules and also undertake PGT and PGR thesis supervision.

  • Biography

    Nimai is an Associate Professor of Sport Performance Analysis and Director of Postgraduate Sport Programmes at Middlesex University. He provides strategic leadership across the postgraduate sport portfolio, including the MSc Sport Performance Analysis delivered in London, Dubai and online. His role spans academic strategy, curriculum innovation, quality assurance and portfolio development, and his leadership in teaching is recognised through Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. 

    He has extensive international experience leading curriculum design, revalidation and portfolio transformation across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. His leadership in teaching extends from UK to Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. This includes developing new delivery models and international recruitment pathways through institutional partnerships and MoUs. 

    Nimai is a research-active academic and Associate Editor of the International Journal of Performance Analysis of Sport. He publishes regularly and is a frequent keynote speaker and invited educator at international conferences and institutions worldwide. 

     He is committed to widening participation and innovation in sport education, having led EDI mentoring (read more hereherehere and here)  and scholarship initiatives and established applied research projects, placements and funded studentships with organisations including UEFA, the LTA, elite professional teams, and Olympic and Paralympic programmes in partnership with the UK Sports Institute. 

    Nimai serves on the Executive Committee of the International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport (ISPAS), where he has led the redevelopment of international accreditation frameworks adopted by organisations including the Premier League. He also contributes to international conference governance and sector development through collaboration with the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES).
