Biography
Vanisha Dyall is a lecturer on theInternational Foundation Programme at Middlesex University Mauritius, where sheteaches academic skills, critical thinking, and mathematics to a diverseinternational student cohort. Her teaching focuses on supporting students’transition into higher education by developing academic literacy, analyticalthinking, and quantitative confidence across disciplines. Before working inhigher education, she taught Mathematics and English at secondary school levelin England for over a decade.
Sheholds an MSc in Educational Assessment, and her research interests centre onclassroom-based assessment, feedback practices, and student engagement withfeedback. She is particularly interested in how assessment and feedback can bedesigned to enhance learning, promote equity, and support the academicdevelopment of students from diverse educational backgrounds.
Inaddition to her teaching role, Vanisha is a member of the Assessment Projectteam at Middlesex University, working with a global group of academics acrossthe Middlesex international campuses to explore and develop assessmentphilosophy and practice. This work includes critical discussion of assessmentdesign, feedback approaches, and constructive alignment within an internationalcontext.
