Hainan joint campus with Minzu University of China

A centre for creativity, arts, and inspiration, the Middlesex joint campus was established in 2023 in collaboration with Minzu University of China (MUC).

Minzu University of China (MUC) is considered the most prestigious higher education institution for the education of minority ethnics in China, as well as a leading provider for courses in the subject area of creative arts. It is an A-level university for the Double First-Class Construction initiative. MUC offers programmes at all levels from undergraduate to research degrees in a range of subject areas, which include dance, fine arts, ethnic studies, history, philosophy, literature, economics, administration, law, science, medicine, engineering and education. MUC has two campuses: one in Beijing, and one on the island of Hainan off the south coast of China.

The Middlesex College of Minzu University of China is a non-independent Joint Education Institute (JEI) located on the Hainan campus, which is based in the Li'an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone. It is a joint international partnership between Middlesex University and MUC. The JEI opened in September 2023 and offers joint and dual awards with Middlesex University’s Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries. 

The JEI is a hub for arts and creative industries education, research and knowledge exchange in the region. Leveraging the high-quality resources of both universities, the JEI aims to cultivate international, high-level, and application-oriented talented graduates with entrepreneurial ability.

These are programmes and qualifications, jointly developed, delivered, assessed and quality assured by Middlesex University and Minzu University of China. These are delivered via the Joint Education Institute, Middlesex College of Minzu University of China.
