The Minster Centre
These courses were developed and are delivered and assessed by The Minster Centre, awarded by and quality assured by Middlesex University.
The Minster Centre provides professional training in counselling and psychotherapy. It also offers a range of community-based therapy services.
The Centre was founded to address the growing divide between the humanistic and psychoanalytic schools of psychotherapy. Its initial aim was to develop a training philosophy that could integrate these different schools.
The founders wanted to avoid an eclectic approach that included anything and everything. They also wanted to avoid presenting the training as a new and rigidly defined alternative.
The training therefore starts from the belief that many approaches can make valuable contributions to the broad field of psychotherapy and counselling.
