Welcome to uni
We’re working with some top online events promoters and our student groups on loads of social for students starting in autumn 2020 and spring 2021.
There will be things to do spread across your first few weeks and months here so you have plenty of chances to get involved.
Build your new network
Meet new friends and make contacts in our friendly online spaces where you can meet up and share your experiences with people like you in our student communities.
We’re working towards hosting face-to-face events when it’s safe to do so and if you can’t make it, we’ll make sure you can attend them online too.
Learn new stuff online
Run in the elections for Student Voice Leaders, do a paid online placement and learn how to vlog or podcast. Make the most of opportunities to learn skills and get experience online.
Plans for our services
Our Advice Service will be available through video appointments and live chat. We’ll keep you up to date on social media and our website and we’re also looking at ways we can make our Welcome Desk virtual too.
MDXSU is constantly throwing parties and events, so there's plenty to do after dark. It might be a collaboration with a society - which is an opportunity to see if you'd like to join it!
Your Students' Union is there to make your voice heard. We'll give you support to take the lead on issues that matter to you, from more vegan food in the canteen to better support for homeless people in the local area.
Our students' past campaign successes include lobbying the local council to resettle 50 Syrian refugees in our borough and a free bike hire scheme on campus.
We want every Middlesex student to have the best experience possible. But we understand that issues might come up with your studies, where you're living or how you're feeling.
The Students' Union offers free, confidential and independent advice and support for students facing problems with their academic work and other challenges.
Your reps are all students and are elected to their roles through student-only votes. They work with staff across the University and Students' Union to create changes that students want to see – on campus and beyond.
Your reps include a President and three Vice Presidents who work full-time for you and represent all Middlesex students on campus, locally and nationally. There are also six School Voice Leaders and a Student Voice Leader on each year of every course.
There’s a lot of different things to get involved with at the Students' Union, from societies to campaigns, student jobs to leadership roles, pretty much something for everyone!
Our student-run media includes an award-winning student magazine, a blossoming TV station and the ever-popular radio station POW! FM. There's also a new online hub with POW! News and POW! Showcase blogs.
See for yourself what your Students' Union has been doing over on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram.
