Join us for our Middlesex University Teachers’ and Careers Advisors’ Conference that we are running in collaboration with MDX Department of Education on 7 July 2026.

This year the theme will link to the recent Post16 education and skills white paper and focus on how together we can tackle the skills gap and support the growth of young people. Sessions will include the importance of oracy and communication skills as a successful vehicle for progression onto higher level opportunities, in partnership with ‘Debate Mate’. Also, how best to harness AI for constructive use in your classrooms to support your learner’s future.

There will also be an opportunity to hear from Middlesex University academics, students and senior staff, and view our award-winning facilities. An opportunity to network over lunch with advisors, teachers and university staff will be included.

Year 12 students were invited to see The North London Degree Show 2024: Creative Landscape on Tuesday 11 June, 10am to 3.30pm, which showcased the work of the graduating students of the Schools of Art, Design and Film. This was  a great opportunity for students to see the fantastic work completed by our students.

During our Lunchtime Learning webinar for teachers and careers advisors, we discussed applying for student finance, loan repayments and the new Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE). View the recording.

For National Careers Week we worked in collaboration with Barnet Council to run a Sustainable Fashion Workshop for groups of Year 12 and 13 students from local schools and colleges in the Borough of Barnet.

We created the workshop to show students how to customise and upcycle old clothing as part of our commitment to the environment and sustainability.

Our summer faculty days ran from 11 June to 3 July 2025. With a wide range of subjects to explore, they were a fantastic opportunity for students to get hands-on experience and a taste of university life. The days included a series of practical workshops led by our staff, academics and students.

The NHS careers fair, delivered in partnership with the North Central London Training Hub, brought together a wide range of opportunities across health and social care, highlighting over 350 potential career paths within a sector dedicated to making a meaningful difference every day. The event gave attendees the chance to explore their options and speak directly with NHS professionals, including doctors, nurses, midwives, art therapists and mental health specialists, providing valuable insight into different roles and a clearer understanding of career pathways within the industry.

The annual STEM Festival took place on campus as part of British Science Week, welcoming school and college groups for a day of interactive activities linked to the Faculty of Science and Technology. Attendees explored a range of hands-on experiences designed to bring STEM subjects to life, alongside a lunchtime keynote from planetary scientist Dr Sheila Kanani MBE, who shared how the solar system shaped her career and passion for science.
