The Tax and Accounting Clinic
We offer free, confidential support to individuals, small businesses and community organisations with everyday basic tax and accounting questions.
The Middlesex University’s Tax and Accounting Clinic (MDXTAC) is run by experienced Chartered Accountant academics, working alongside a group of our final-year accounting students who volunteer in the clinic under their guidance. Together, we’re here to support the local community while giving our students valuable, hands-on experience.
We can help you with:
- Understanding personal and business tax
- Preparing for self-assessment
- General accounting queries
While we cannot provide formal legal or tax representation, we’ll help you understand your responsibilities and guide you to appropriate professional services if you need extra support.
‘‘I just want to say a big thank you to Shan for meeting me. Shan spent almost an hour helping me with freelancing and taxes – so kind of her! Her advice made things much clearer for me, and I’m really grateful.’’
