Farrheen currently serves as the Module Coordinator and Lecturer for: 

- Introduction to Business

- Foundations of Business

In addition, she teaches Foundation Mathematics, supporting students in building core quantitative and analytical skills essential for higher‑level study.

Her responsibilities include: 

- Leading and delivering core business modules with an emphasis on active learning and student‑centred pedagogy

- Ensuring alignment with programme requirements across the Mauritius, Dubai, and Hendon campuses, where assessments, teaching materials, and content structures follow an institutional standard

- Providing high‑quality teaching, guidance, and formative feedback to support student academic development

- Actively contributing to curriculum redesign initiatives for business modules, working collaboratively with academic teams to enhance programme structure and learning outcomes.


Biography

Farrheen Pokun is a dedicated educator and aspiring researcher currently serving as a Full‑Time Lecturer in the International Foundation Programme at Middlesex University Mauritius (since September 2025), following two years of service as a Part‑Time Lecturer (2023–2025). She holds an MSc in Finance, graduating with Distinction and ranking first in her cohort, and a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Middlesex University, where she earned First Class Honours and received the Outstanding Student Award.

Before transitioning fully into higher education, Farrheen gained valuable industry experience as an Executive Auditor at Deloitte, where she worked with international accounting and auditing standards. She also developed strong pedagogical foundations through earlier roles teaching Accounting at secondary level, which strengthened her commitment to learner development, instructional design, and effective classroom engagement.

A fully qualified ACCA Affiliate, she was awarded the ACCA National Prize in Audit and Assurance (2020). Her academic interests include Financial Technology (FinTech), digital transformation in financial systems, and pedagogical innovation. Her Master’s dissertation focused on FinTech, and she intends to pursue a PhD exploring the intersection of technology, finance, and education.

Farrheen is also an ICF‑accredited Certified Life Coach, integrating coaching methodologies into her teaching to support student confidence, well‑being, and academic growth. She is an accomplished public speaker, recognised as the Toastmasters National Public Speaking Champion of Mauritius (2022) and 1st Runner‑Up in Southern Africa, and has delivered a TEDx talk at Middlesex University (2025).
