Biography

the Director of Undergraduate Sport Programmes and a Senior Lecturer in Sport Rehabilitation at the London Sport Institute, Middlesex University. My work centres on programme development, quality enhancement, and student progression across our sport portfolio. I also serve as an experienced external examiner for sport science and sport rehabilitation programmes and provide consultancy on curriculum design within further education vocational qualifications.

Within the BSc Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation programme, I specialise in end stage rehabilitation and return to play. Over the past 15 years, I have taught extensively across the sport science spectrum at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with particular expertise in rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and applied performance.

I hold degrees in Sports Rehabilitation and Strength & Conditioning, providing a balanced foundation between injury management and performance enhancement.

My research interests include various aspects of road cycling performance, and I am currently pursuing a PhD investigating the biomechanics and motor learning characteristics of footwork techniques in elite épée fencing.

Beyond academia, I work as a consultant in strength and conditioning, supporting athletes from a wide range of sports and performance levels, including Olympic-level performers. I currently consult for the Football Association and previously the British Military Special Forces and British Fencing athletes.
