The Entrepreneurial Barnet Competition, 'What's Your Big Idea?' is a contest to promote and develop enterprise and entrepreneurship throughout Barnet and amongst the student population. It offers Middlesex University, Barnet and Southgate College students and local residents the opportunity to showcase their ideas, attend business development workshops and win funding to help grow their business.
The competition is led by Middlesex University, London Borough of Barnet and Barnet and Southgate College with the generous support of Brent Cross and Santander Universities.
In this edition of the contest, there is a cash prize fund of £15,000.
The contest takes place over three stages with the intention of identifying the very best ideas and talent.
Submit a two-minute pitch video presenting your business or idea
A series of online workshops to help develop your idea and business
Four finalists (two from each category) pitch their business to a panel of judges
There are two categories in the competition:

Due to the ongoing pandemic, this contest will take place entirely online.
The contest will be held in the summer of 2021, please register your interest and we will contact you when dates are confirmed.
To enter the competition, contestants* must fall into one of the following categories:
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
*If you have an operational business, it must be less than two years old.
**Graduated in the last two years.
