Middlesex University continues to climb league tables across the board

27/04/2015
Middlesex University is celebrating a successful run of climbing league tables across the board after topping London universities in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards.

Middlesex leapt 78 places from last year to be ranked at 21 out of 113 in the University of the Year category, beating off competition from all other London universities.

The success continued in other groups, with Middlesex placed at 7th for university facilities, jumping 88 places from last year, and ranked at 9th for best student support – both higher than any other London institution.

The awards are based entirely on reviews written by current and past students on Whatuni.com, with this year factoring in 20,000 student reviews over past 12 months.  Any university that received 100 or more student reviews over the last year qualified for an award.

Simon Emmett, Managing Director Whatuni.com, said: "Middlesex University performed strongly in the Student Support and Uni facilities categories, which reflects a commitment from the university to improve the resources available to students, and the overall student experience.  It is also noteworthy that no other London university was even shortlisted in either category."

It has also been announced today (Monday 27 April) that Middlesex has climbed five places in the latest Complete University Guide league table, placing at 84th.

The Complete University Guide ranks universities on a number of criteria including student satisfaction, research quality, entry standards, student-staff ratio, spend on facilities and graduate prospects.

Middlesex University Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Driscoll said: "These results demonstrate both our continuing commitment to the development of Middlesex and our growing reputation and impact across teaching, research and student success.

"It is particularly pleasing that our ranking in the Whatuni guide comes from our students, as they are at the heart of everything we do.

Aman Siddiqi, Middlesex University Students' Union President, said: "MDXSU is delighted and proud to see the improvements that our university has made to the student experience being recognised, and is delighted that as a university we are now sat at the top table for student experience. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership as we work together to make the experience even better in the future."
