Local music duo Siloet from Muswell Hill are having a double celebration after their latest track, ‘Control’, was played on BBC Radio 1, the same week as guitarist Liam Gallagher graduated from Middlesex University with first class honours.
The commercial indie bass duo Liam Gallagher, who has just graduated from Middlesex University, and Samuel J Welch moved to London from Devon to follow their music dream a couple of years ago and haven’t looked back since. So far they have achieved radio play with BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing London as well as a live performance on their home-based BBC Radio Devon to come in January 2014.
The talented pair have crafted the sound of ‘commercial indie bass’ into a cross-genre of their own. The music blends Samuel’s vocals with Liam’s guitar and their combined passion for production. The song ‘Control’ was made available for free download on Facebook by the north London based duo, in return for a ‘like’ on Facebook.
Liam and Samuel are not just successful in the studio - Liam has just graduated with first class honours in music and arts management from Middlesex University and Samuel is a graduate of The Academy of Contemporary Music which is an institution of Middlesex University.
First class Middlesex University graduate Liam Gallagher said: “The paddy synths and smooth vocals give ‘Control' a laidback vibe, dirtied by the fuzzing guitar and deep bass. We have one album under our belt, and we have several new songs in the pipeline which we can’t wait to release.
“Hearing our song on Radio 1 was a great feeling – it’s something you work towards. But we don’t want to stop there, it has made us hungry for more, we want our music to be heard all the time.”
The pair have two releases planned for August including a remix of LA Calling by the alternative dance band Crystal Fighters.
Siloet has been taken under the wing of Adam Pendse who has worked with the likes of Robbie Williams, NERO and The Hurts.
