Mortarboards fly during Graduation Week

19/07/2016
Cupcakes, celebrations, congratulations and even a graduation dog — graduation 2016 had it all

Middlesex University graduation weekOver the course of last week, 4816 students graduated across 14 ceremonies at the University’s Hendon campus.

With cupcakes, a special message from the Vice-Chancellor across the University’s social media channels and a graduation dog, even the appalling weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of those graduating.

“I had an amazing time at Middlesex, I loved every second. I had brilliant teachers, amazing classmates and have gained so many new skills," said BA Journalism and Media graduate, Ludovica Uggeri.

“London is great for EU students because of its multicultural identity. You'll never have the chance to meet so many nationalities in one city! There are also many opportunities in terms of jobs and internships.

"I came across so many new cultures and languages at University, something which is unique to Middlesex."

Middlesex awarded 11 honorary degrees during graduation week, including one to Peppa Pig producer Phil Davies: “It is a tremendous honour to receive this award, especially coming from the institution where myself, Mark Baker and Neville Astlely first met in the 1980s. Without those wonderful years working at Middlesex I’ve no doubt that Peppa would not exist!"

Professor Tim Blackman enjoyed his first graduation week as Vice Chancellor of Middlesex: "It's been my absolute delight to graduate the class of 2016 this year. Very well done to all of our graduates."
