Middlesex Pro Vice-Chancellor Ellen Buck awarded prestigious Advance HE National Teaching Fellowship 2026

Dr Buck among outstanding educators recognised for excellence and achievement in UK higher education

Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience at Middlesex University, Dr Ellen Buck PFHEA, has been recognised through Advance HE's National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS), which celebrates individuals who have made an outstanding impact on student outcomes and the teaching profession in UK higher education.

Dr Buck, who joined Middlesex University in February 2025, is recognised for transforming learning and teaching, and the student experience, working with innovative and inclusive methods. Her work demonstrates a longstanding commitment to widening participation and student success. Throughout her career, she has worked with a range of education providers in the UK and internationally, influencing practice and championing evidence-informed approaches that have improved outcomes for both students and staff.

On receiving the fellowship, Dr Buck said:

"I am truly honoured to receive a National Teaching Fellowship. It is a wonderful milestone in my higher education career to be recognised by Advance HE for teaching excellence.

"I would like to thank my colleagues at Middlesex who help shape my approach and our students who inspire my work. I am grateful for the opportunities to develop inclusive teaching practices that place students at the centre of our work, ensuring they receive an excellent academic experience and achieve the best possible outcomes."
