Hi, I'm Allison Broughton. I'm Director of Programmes for Accounting, Finance and Economics. We're actually one of five universities in London where we work with the NHS. The students in year two can apply to do a finance placement. They can work for London Ambulance or they could be working for an NHS trust. They've got one year of the three years they need for their work experience so they can actually go on to become chartered accountants within two years.

I was impressed by the professionalism of the team. Practice professionals like myself who've come from working within industry, bringing that experience into our teaching. We're a real diverse mix, and I really enjoy that.

In the library we have Bloomberg Terminal and other software that are used in the field right now. So the exposure and the learning opportunity, working and researching on those terminals, was a big, big, massive, thing that helped me.

We have embedded employability sessions within our undergraduate degree programmes. We have an employer forum, and they will talk about opportunities that they have and how to be successful in applications. We also work quite closely with professional bodies because we are professionally accredited and they'll do talks about the advantages of gaining professional qualifications and the differences between them. The idea of all this support that we're giving is that the students gain information, so that they are informed to make the right decisions when they leave.

They look at your CV. They look at how your interview skills are. They teach you how to pass an interview. It's all these like, skills basically.

My favourite moment is graduation when I see these students, develop with them, spent time with them, and they've grown. They've got fantastic opportunities and they're going off to start their careers. That's always like a really amazing moment.
