Next Steps

Once you've been accepted onto a Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Sports, Teaching, Vet or Healthcare Science course you will need to complete a UK DBS Check, and possibly an Overseas Police Check and/or an Occupational Health Check. Find out more about the requirements for your course.

Nursing (Adult) BSc,

Nursing (Child) BSc,

Nursing (Mental Health) BSc,

Nursing (Adult) MSc,

Nursing (Mental Health) MSc,

Midwifery (Advanced 3yr) BSc, 

Midwifery (Short) BSc,

Healthcare Science (Audiology) BSc,

Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) BSc,

Healthcare Science (Neurophysiology) BSc. 

please follow the steps below.

As part of your offer condition for this course, please undertake the following checks:

You need to complete your DBS ID Check and submit your Occupational Health (OH) Questionnaire to the OH provider prior to starting your course.

Placement start dates

Placements start as early as October. For your course, you need to be both DBS and Occupational Health (OH) cleared before you can go into placement. If you are not DBS or OH cleared in time, you will not be allowed to start your placement.

Please ensure that you complete both processes as soon as possible.

For Vet Nursing BSc and Vet Nursing BSc with Foundation Year please follow the steps below.

As part of your offer condition for this course, you need an Occupational Health Check (more information soon to follow).

DBS Checks are NOT required.

You should submit your Occupational Health (OH) Questionnaire to the OH provider prior to starting your course.

Placements start as early as October. For your course, you are required to be Occupational Health (OH) cleared before you can go into placement. If you are not OH cleared in time, you will not be allowed to enter into your placement.

For the following courses, Social Work BA, Social Work MA, Social Work PGDip, Social Work (Step Up) PGDip, please follow the steps below.

As part of your offer condition for this course you will need the following:

DBS Check and (where applicable) Overseas Police Check

Occupational Health Checks are NOT required for this programme

You are required to complete your DBS ID Check prior to starting your course.

For the following courses, Primary PGCE, Secondary PGCE, Primary Education (QTS) BA, Lead Partner ITT (Tuition Fee) route, please follow the steps below.

As part of your offer condition for this programme, you are required to undertake the following checks:

DBS Check and (where applicable) Overseas Police Check
Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Health Check (more information soon to follow)

You are required to complete your DBS ID Check and submit your ITT Health Questionnaire to the OH provider prior to starting your course.

Placements start as early as October. For your programme of study, you are required to be both DBS and Health cleared before you can go into placement. If you are not DBS or Health cleared in time, you will not be allowed to enter into your placement.

Please ensure that you complete both processes as soon as possible.
