Current Teaching

As an Assistant Lecturer and Assessor, Bushra contributes to teaching and assessment across modules within sport and exercise science, supporting areas such as physical activity, health, and behaviour change. Her role includes delivering teaching sessions, facilitating student learning, and providing formative and summative assessment feedback in line with academic standards.

She is actively involved in module delivery and student support, with a focus on enhancing student engagement and applying evidence-based approaches to teaching. While not currently holding formal module or programme leadership responsibilities, she contributes to the effective delivery and ongoing development of teaching provision.

At present, Bushra is not supervising postgraduate research (PGR) students but is developing her academic profile and research expertise in preparation for future supervisory roles.


Biography

Syeda Bushra Ali is a doctoral researcher in Sports Science at Middlesex University London, specialising in physical activity interventions for metabolic syndrome and healthy ageing. Her research focuses on designing and evaluating evidence-based strategies that address both the physiological and behavioural dimensions of chronic disease prevention, with the aim of improving public health outcomes.

Alongside her research, she works as an Assistant Lecturer and Assessor, contributing to teaching, curriculum development, and student assessment. With over a decade of professional experience as a health and fitness coach, she brings a translational perspective that bridges research and real-world practice, particularly in the design of personalised interventions and behaviour change strategies.

Bushra is also a Capacity Building Committee Member at the International Society for Physical Activity and Health, where she contributes to initiatives aimed at strengthening global capacity for physical activity research, policy, and practice.
